A lincoln county neighborhood is calm again after officers tracked down a kidnapping suspect who they say fired shots at them.

According to stanford police, officers were in chasing a vehicle connected to an active kidnapping in berea.

When they tried to stop the driver... he took off... and led them into lincoln county... where they say the suspect stopped the vehicle in a neighborhood... got out and fired shots at them.

Police say they returned fire but the suspect ran off... leaving the kidnapping victim in the car.

Officers say the suspect was found a few hours later... hiding under a home.

His name has not been released yet.
