Sindelar is an electrical engineer at the Fiat Chrysler transmission plant in Tipton.

Studio.

Andy?

There's so much more to life than just sports.

Elijah sindelar spent most of his life playing them including football ..

But the former purdue quarterback decided to turn the page on his career instead of pursing one in the n-f-l.

I caught up with sindelar to find out what he's been up to since walking away from the game..

Joe davis: arizona bringing pressure again.

This time it's picked up.

Into one- on-one mahoungou makes the catch and fights in for the purdue touchdown!

Andrew: elijah sindelar experienced several highs ..

Elijah sindelar: boiler up baby!

Andrew: and several lows at purdue ..

Dave flemming: i don't think he ever saw that defensive lineman or linebacker.

Andrew: not to mention, several injuries ..

Elijah sindelar: oh my goodness.

That's a long list.

Torn a-c- l, pulled oblique, concussion, broken collarbone.

I'm probably missing things.

Andrew: those things ..

Those (injuries changed the former purdue quarterback's life.

Elijah sindelar: i'm not playing football anymore.

I'm married and i have an engineering job.

Andrew: after engineering offenses for many years ..

Sindelar now works at the fiat chrysler transmission plant in tipton ... elijah sindelar: basically all i do is troubleshoot which as an engineer is probably the best thing about the job.

I love being able to problem solve.

Andrew: two and a half years ago ..

Sindelar and the boilermakers solved arizona's defense to win the foster farms bowl ..

Joe davis: and a touchdown!

Andrew: sindelar threw for nearly 400 hundred yards and 4 touchdowns on a torn a-c-l.

Sindelar's greatest problem in college wasn't reading defenses or studying electrical but taking care of himself.

Elijah sindelar: the concussion is the one that scared me if i'm being honest.

I couldn't really see.

I couldn't look at light, couldn't think or concentrate.

That scared me to the point of maybe i need to rethink what i'm doing.

Andrew: today ..

Sindelar lives in carmel.

He's traded in his no.

2 jersey for badge no.

1-7-6-3-6-2-7 ..

Elijah sindelar: i have no regrets.

When i make decisions i'm going to make sure i have no regrets because i don't want to look back on it and wish i had done something different so i'm happy with the decision that i made.

Andrew: sindelar is happy and healthy with no regrets and a ton of memories from his time in west lafayette.

Elijah sindelar: purdue was tremendous to me and i have so much respect for the school and the program.

I graduated from purdue.

I'm an electrical engineer and i played division i football so all-in-all i'm pretty happy.

Purdue fans will remember sindelar's play at the end of the 20-17 season and the bowl win over
