The terre haute fire department held its annual fallen hereos ceremony.
Each year... family members... and other first responders come together to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Nat:ceremony this year had an even more special meaning.
Firefighter john schoffstall was honored today.
You'll remember... schoffstall passed away earlier this year after battling covid-19.
Today... his name was unveiled on the wall at the fire and police museum.
"it's an honor to be the leader of this department, and to see these people come back year after year.
It's a lot of respect.
It's kind of like a reunion people coming back year after year."
The schoffstall family was also presented a plaque to honor schoffstall.
