Plans underway for back to school

In the last 30 minutes, we heard from madison city schools superintendent doctor ed nichols in a live zoom call.

Right now dr. nichols says they are working on their procedures for the start of school in august.

Tomorrow a task force-- made up of students, teachers and staff will meet to discuss their plan.

The district sent out a survey last week- 2,000 have responded and he says he understands the hesitation parents might have when it comes to sending their kids back to class.

The state superintendent left a lot of decisions up to the individual school districts-- but introduced their state wide virtual school program on friday.

Superintendent nichols says no matter the plan, things could change.

"fluid situation......we've got to have a plan not ony for where we are today ...hard to say..."

Dr. nicholas also thanked the madison city community for coming together and giving their feedback.

The district is considering delaying it's school start date to give faculty members more time to prepare.
