Dive team recovers body from Oriskany Creek in Clark Mills

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office dive team pulled a man's body from Oriskany Creek this morning after they were called to the scene around 7 a.m.

Team was called in this morning...after a body was discovered in the oriskany creek, in clark mills.

Newschannel 2's brent kearney has been there all morning....and joins us live in the studio with all the details.

Brent, good afternoon.

There's been a heavy police presence there all morning, on main street, near the american legion according to the oneida county sheriff's office, their dive team recovered an adult male in the area of the bridge on main street in clark mills.

Authorities were called to the scene at around 7 this morning.

And blocked off a portion of main street as crews worked to recover the body and look for any evidence.

One neighbor that i spoke to, said the body was found by a neighbor passing by <"their was already people on the bridge that didnt see what happened but they saw a body in the water and i yelled over to see what was going on and they said their was a dead body in the water."

The portion of main street that was closed is now back open.

Investigators have cleared the scene.

The sheriff's office said they are investigating the cause of death but said at this point, it does not appear to be suspicious.
