Milk giveaways in Herkimer, Waterville

Thousands of gallons of milk, and other food items, were distributed in Herkimer and Waterville Tuesday.

Milk and food give- aways today.

The first, in herkimer.

It started at 10 o'clock this morning at herkimer central school.

More than 4- thousand gallons of milk..... and 25- thousand pounds of food were available at the drive-thru event.

Herkimer county also distributed one-thousand packs of cloth face masks.

Each pack contained five masks.

Robert schrader: it helps the people out that are striving, that need a little help to get by each week and the situation at hand with the epidemic, some stores not opening yet, some stores still closed, somesl volunteers helped distribute the food today.

The drive will be open until they are out of product.

The second give- away was held in waterville.

This one also started at 10- am...and was held at the waterville junior-senior high school.

Organizers say the continued turnout each month shows the need is definitely there to continues these.

The same group is planning another milk drop in july, but no date has been set.
