Case remains under investigation.

3 as the numbers of covid 19 cases continue to climb a toss the country..education systems are looking to reopen in the fall.

Our leigha mcneil has the latest from officials at ul lafayette..

Leigha how is the university planning to keep students and faculty safe when the return in the fall?

Standup: well guys first and foremost mask will be mandatory for student, factuality, staff, and visitors come the frist day of the fall semester, on monday august 17th...a spokesman for the university tells me a covid 19 tasks force has been working diligently since the beginning of the pandemic to ensure everyone can return safely once classes begin., but one student tells me shes worried about returning in the fall"i's too many people the classes are so big i's no way to regulate the social distancing everyone having a mascon i's actually no way to regulate that so i do't think w're gonna have a productive semester."

Her picture perfect senior year is looking different these days ul senior kourtney williams tells me though she supports wearing a mask... maintining cleanliness in frequently used areas is a big concern... "classes run from 7 'clock in the morning to 8 'clock at night so are they going to be cleaning that after every single bus stop?

I's a lot to take in to consideration."

Its a hot top officials have been tackeling "what we will be doing is enhancing that when classes resume in the fall to make sure that the areas around whether the're working in the classroom going to the dining hall going to the bookstore the student union that those areas will be kept clean."

Eric moran ul communications director says the university is working on a plan to address transportation services...and will announce it in the coming weeks ...moran adding adjustments have been made to the school callendar to minimize the spread"w're not going to have a fall break like w've had in the past and after thanksgiving students will not be coming back to campus the'll be doing their finals going on for thanksgiving and the'll be staying home after that that way we do't have to worry about them mixing with family and then coming back on to campus."

But kortney believes ul should return to virtural learning to avoid a surge in on campus cases"it does make me feel safer that we do have to wear a mask but i do't think i do't know how tha's going to go with people actually following the rules and i do't know if i want to sit in class for three hours with a mask on although i am 100% for mask i think it would benefit students more if they would just go online."

The everchanging numbers keeping ul officials on their toes leaving moran and the ul covid 19 task force juggling a safe return to campus while trying to kee.p the ragin cajun experence alive"we want to do whatever we can to ensure that they can have their college experience, which is not only in the classroom but i's also the social aspect.

The main thing they were going to ask people to do is maintain social distancing wear a mask when the're in close quarters and really enjoy as much of college life as they can."standup: moran says the're watching the numbers every day but as of right now fall sports will go on as planned with fans in the stands of course with social distancing in mind in leslie at leigha mcneil news15 thanks leigha...maron says right now the university is looking at a number of different scenarios for the fall... if numbers continue to rise.if any one has any questions about how the university is navigating through the fall semester with covid 19 and get updates as things change...you can visit louisiana.edu/covid19 for their
