24 news now.

The south carolina aquarium starter welcoming guests and a new exhibit, the engagement coordinator.

Where are you standing right now?

>> this is our shock that existed millions of years ago.

It's one that we're debuting on july 4.

This is going to be a new experience and will have a lot more creatures like this.

>> it's amazing.

About how tall are we looking at?

Is that the right way to describe the size of the job?

>> it's probably about 6 and a half feet tall.

Behind me this entire wall is a silhouette of a megaladon shark.

A good idea for the immense size.

>> i have to say, i'm very happy to hear that you are able to open your doors all most a month ago under new protocols.

Obviously, you were wearing a mask and you have to wear a mask because you're out there in the aquarium and have visitors coming by passing through.

Can you tell us what some of those particles are so visitors come prepared?

>> absolutely.

Number one is wearing a mask any time you're in the building.

We have masks outside of this building -- a mask free zone if you need a break.

But we are requesting that people go online and purchase tickets before visiting.that is to control passing the building.

So then there is no time limit, take your time.

>> do you have to stop selling tickets once you have reached capacity?

How do you deal with that?

>> yes, we have capacity every hour.

Once we reached that hour it is sold out.

So you might have to buy an hour or so but hasn't been too much of a problem.

We can have enough people that it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

>> and going back to the masks real quick.

I noticed on your website anyone three years old and older.

They are required to wear a mask.

So you really are taking this quite seriously.

But i am sure you did wonderful programs for kids were finishing up the school year, they are able to log on and learn some things.

And be somewhat entertained and informed in the summer.

But now you're allowing them to come into the doors so with this new exhibit, you are talking about micro to meg appear maybe you can take us through a couple of steps of what people can see.

>> absolutely.

As you come up the escalator onto the second floor, you begin your journey at that exhibit where we have insects.

That is the micro aspect.

They are represented by larger-than-life sculptures.

Some 12 feet tall, with a cockroach that's bigger than a golden retriever.so pretty creepy stuff.

But our hope is to be able to educate people about the animals and appreciate the monstrous impact they have.

While they may look like much as they are pretty important as well.

So we have the insect display at the beginning and then oceanside we have deep-sea creatures.

The inspiration for the cracken, we have made by a lot of plastic water bottles.

So a lot of different aspects, really we try to highlight these less appreciated and less seen animals.

>> it is true.

And so many of these animals living throughout the lowcountry, off our coast.

It's really quite amazing what exists in the waters around south carolina.

We have such a beautiful ecosystem here so you learn so much when you come to south carolina aquarium.tell us a little bit about tickets.

I understand that there is a discount?

>> yes july, all memberships are $15 off.

That's renewals and new memberships.

And also remember monday.

Those are around the new exhibit.

And that will be before the building opens.

They will get -- that is our bald eagle.

And you get to meet the makers of the exhibit which will be really cool.

It's how we build these creatures and why we chose them.

>> wonderful.

It is so funny that liberty should chime in because i was going to ask you how liberty is doing.

Sounds like she is doing just fine!

>> she always makes her presence known, that's for sure.

>> thank you for sharing with us don't get too close to those teeth, okay?

>> no problem, thank you for having us.

>> we will share
