Businesses in corvallis are bracing for more restrictions as county officials warn that cases are growing out of control.

Yesterday, the county said it may be added to governor brown'watch list& -- a pre- cursor to more shut downs.

A stark warning from someone who felt the painful fallout of coronavirus restrictions.

Melissa posto, co- owner of many hands trading in downtown corvallis, closed up shop and laid off employees when restrictions first went into place.

Since reopening, theye slowly started bringing people back and sales have rebounded.

But now, she fearful the same thing could happen again.

New data shows benton county is not meeting the public health indicators set by the state for phased reopening.

A 29 percent increase in cases over the last week is far above the required five percent for phase two.

On top of that, 70 percent of new cases need to be traced to an existing case, but right now just 17 percent have a traceable link.

All of that adds up to a possible spot on governor kate brown watch list for counties that may need additional restrictions.

Jacob roberts says,?the downtown corvallis association told me today no businesses have had to permanently close their doors because of covid-19 but they said more restrictions could make it harder to recove?

Now, she says more than ever they need the community support.
