PM Modi said that the parties that did nothing for farmers when it was in power is now opposing the reforms brought in by the Modi govt. PM Modi also said that these people have opposed all big reforms I the past including digital payments, the introduction of GST and so on. PM said that the opposition has not stood with farmers, youth or jawans of India. PM Modi said that these parties had also opposed the One Rank One Pension implemented by the Modi government and sought proof of the surgical strikes on terror camps in PoK. A special CBI court is set to pronounce the verdict in the criminal case related to the demolition of the Babri mosque on 30th September. BJP stalwarts LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Kalyan Singh and Uma Bharti are among the 32 accused in the case. Ram Temple Trust chairman Nritya Gopal Das and general secretary Champat Rai are also among the accused in the case. The verdict in the criminal case relating to the demolition comes months after PM Modi laid the foundation stone of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. This after a Supreme Court verdict in November 2019 had ordered that the disputed site in Ayodhya be given to the Hindu site for construction of a temple and had asked the government to provide an alternative site to the Muslim side for building a mosque. The Supreme Court had however called the demolition illegal. In April 2017, the top court had asked the special court to conduct day-to-day hearings and complete the trial within two years. The coronavirus pandemic has shown the risk involved in excessive dependence of the global supply chain on any single source, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during a virtual bilateral summit on Monday with his Danish counterpart Mette Frederiksen. The prime minister said India is working with Australia and Japan to diversify the supply chain, noting that like-minded countries are welcome to join the initiative. The prime minister also highlighted the government's 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India) initiative as well as various reform measures in the areas of agriculture, taxation and labour market. Jammu and Kashmir administration is gearing up to revive the tourism sector of the Union Territory which was hit by the lockdown last year and the COVID-19 pandemic this year. Prominent tourism players of Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) gathered during the annual general meeting (AGM) to discuss the revival of the crucial sector. Abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35 A followed by the pandemic had affected the tourism adversely. The aim is to retain the glory of this prime sector which provides employment to lakhs of people in the Valley. The Tourism Department also organised water sports and Shikara racing on Dal Lake to promote tourism and invite tourists to visit the beautiful Kashmir.

Compounding alliance troubles for the Bharatiya Janata Party, a leader of the Lok Janshakti Party said that Chirag Paswan is the outfit's Chief Ministerial face for Bihar. The comment was made weeks before the state goes to polls. LJP is a constituent of the National Democratic Alliance which is currently in power in the state. The other members are BJP and the Janata Dal (United), and they have already declared that incumbent CM Nitish Kumar will continue to lead the alliance in the state. The NDA is yet to conclude seat-sharing talks, as well. Bihar will vote in 3 phases to choose MLAs to the 243-seat Assembly. Voting will be held on October 28, November 3 and 7 in the shadow of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Results of the elections will be announced by the Election Commission on November 10, 2020.

An NGO along with district administration organised a cricket tournament for specially-abled people in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district. The game is played under few rules and regulations specific to the different impairment groups. Specially-abled people expressed their happiness on playing after 6-month lockdown. One of the players said, "It feels great to engage in sports activities after months of lockdown imposed due to COVID. It will give us a chance to showcase our skills."
High-speed mobile data services have been restored on a trial basis in Ganderbal and Udhampur districts of Jammu and Kashmir from August 16 for post-paid sim cardholders. According to the order, the trial period which begins from 09:00 pm August 16 will stay in force till September 08, 2020, unless it is modified earlier. Internet speed in other districts in the Union Territory will however be restricted to 2G only. Locals welcomed Government's move. The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) of both districts have been asked to communicate these directions to the service providers with immediate effect and ensure their implementation. Earlier on August 11, the Supreme Court had disposed off a plea seeking contempt proceedings against Union Home Secretary and Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir for allegedly not complying with its earlier order on reviewing restoration of 4G internet service in the Union Territory. A bench headed by NV Ramana also asked the Centre to file a reply on the intervention application filed in the matter and posted the matter for further hearing after two weeks. The contempt petition was filed by an NGO named Foundation for Media Professionals seeking the restoration of 4G internet services in Jammu and Kashmir and alleging that the top court's earlier orders are not being complied with by concerned authorities. During the hearing, the Central government submitted that the Committee, set up to review the restoration of 4G internet service, is considering to allow the same in one district each of Jammu and Kashmir on a trial basis.
