Shasta county public health is cracking down on a popular amusement park in redding--- action news now reporter karen alvarez is in redding near waterworks - she spoke with the public health department.

Under state guidelines places like waterworks park is not supposed to be open.

You're looking at video i shot earlier---people clearly not keeping their distance or wearing a face mask which is anotherreason public health wants people to not go there.

Public health says it asked management to close the park down---saying they would take further action if they didn't.

Sot(patricia keffer, not comfortable sending her kids to the park): i would hesistate to bring my kids there because they are not distancing.

I can see them being out there but they should be separating the groups.

Just three days ago---the shasta county environmental health office notified waterworks park that it would revoke the park's public pool permit on monday because it continues to operate without permission.

Looklive: on their website, waterworks says they will be closing down on august 3rd.
