This morning we're expected to learn more about what learning will look like for students in madison.

Waay31s sierra phillips is is like at hampton cove elementary with what parents need to be prepared for in the fall, sierra?

Like here at this huntsville city school, right now, the madison city school system is planning for students to learn virtually for the first 9 weeks of class.

But the superintendent just released new information on a potential plan they're working on.

Now that madison county has dropped to a high risk advisory level, dr. nichols said if coronavirus numbers stay where they are now or lower over the next couple of weeks, the district could switch to rotational, in- person classes.

With less children in the classroom, those classes could be more socially distant so if a child does get sick they wouldn't have to quarantine the whole class.

He knows the virtual learning option isn't ideal, but the district is doing their best to protect students and staff.

This has been a difficult time and i have not taken the decisions i have made lightly at all because i want to get us back in the school and have that learning he added that today the district will release more information on their website about the virtual learning platform they will use when they reopen on august 12.

The district also released more information for parents of special needs students.

The district says it will have in-person therapies for those students at liberty or discovery middle school.
