According to HuffPost, the data concerned the availability of ICU and hospital beds around the country. The policy change also had an immediate impact on independent researchers who use the data to track and forecast the toll of the virus across the country.
According to the Health Ministry, the actual case load of COVID-19 cases in the country is only 3,42,756, as on July 17. More than 6.35 lakhs of the total cases have recovered taking recovery rate to 63.33%. Close to 23,000 cases has been cured in last 24 hours. India, being the second most populous country in the world with 1.35 billion people, has 727.4 cases per million. The Ministry also informed that there are less than 1% cases on ventilators, less than 2% cases in ICUs and less than 3% cases on oxygen beds. 8,308 new COVID-19 positive cases and 258 deaths have been reported in Maharashtra today. According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 10 new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Dharavi area of Mumbai today. Uttar Pradesh has reported 1,733 new cases. On July 16, 54,207 samples were tested in the state. 4,538 new COVID-19 positive cases and 79 deaths have been reported in Tamil Nadu today.
The school attended by President Donald Trump and Melania Trump's youngest son, Barron, has ended on-campus learning. The news comes as the president demands a return to in-person classes around the country. On Friday, CNN reports Montgomery County, Maryland, ordered that private schools not conduct in-person learning until October 1st. Barron Trump is slated to enter 9th grade in the fall. CNN reports Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been admitted to the hospital and treated for a possible infection. A court spokeswoman says Justice Ginsburg was admitted to The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, early Tuesday morning. Justice Ginsberg underwent an endoscopic procedure to clean out a bile duct stent that was placed last August. The Justice is resting comfortably and will stay in the hospital for a few days to receive intravenous antibiotic treatment.

Florida hit a grim milestone on Saturday. According to HuffPost, the state's count of new novel coronavirus COVID-19 exceeded that of New York's. Nationwide, cases increased by 74,848, the second-highest daily count on record. Total COVID-19 deaths in the country topped 1,000 for the fourth consecutive day. New York chalked up an additional 750 cases for a total of 411,200 by the end of the day Friday, with a death toll of 33,600.
