The state are able to receive visitors again today.
And for the rest of the facilities, including local ones, visitation resumes on saturday.
That would include marcy, mid state and mohawk correctional facilities, locally.
Visiting rooms will be at half capacity for social distancing, all visitors, inmates and staff must wear masks during processing and the visit, and physical contact will not be allowed, other than a brief embrace at the beginning and end of the visit.
A representative with the correction officers' union says there are currently no covid cases at the local prisons...and they'll be watchiing to see if that changes once visitation resumes.
