Mohawk Valley Community College and Herkimer College are preparing to start classes, but the protocols for going to class will be a little different.

Students moving into resident halls at mvcc or hccc are required to quarantine for 2 weeks prior to arriving on campus.

They will be given a covid 19 rapid test upon arrival.

Anyone testing positive for covid will be sent home.

Those attending classes in person will be required to wear a mask at all times.

If students are i the classroom setting or a lab setting for an extended period of time you need to be wearing the masks.

Mvcc and herkimer college will also be offering online course work.

H triple c has taken an additional step in offering real time remote classes.

So that is different than traditional online class where students can log in anytime that's convenient for them and they're not necessarily on at the same time as the faculty member.

Both campuses will have new safety protocols for in person learning.

Sot: kirk tupaj students will be required to check in by having their temperature taken, and filling out a health questionnaire.

Now the questionnaire can be filled out online before the start of each day, then they'll be given a colored bracelet that will allow them access to the campus throughout the day.
