A massive fire broke out at a COVID care hospital in Gujarat's Ahmedabad on August 06.

Around eight people died in the fire at Shrey Hospital in Ahmedabad.

While speaking to media, the JCP at Sector 1 in Ahmedabad, Rajendra Asari spoke on Shrey Hospital fire incident which has claimed 8 lives.

He said, "We are taking the help of fire and forensic experts in the investigation." "A trustee of the hospital is being interrogated and will take help from CCTV footage in this incident," he added.

Delhi Police JCP, Shalini Singh said that 20 teams have been formed and they are scanning all CCTV footage to help them nab the accused. She also spoke on the person who has been arrested and said that he has four criminal cases against him and is accused of murder, attempted murder and burglary.ย Delhi Commission For Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal also visited AIIMS and slammed the Delhi police for the delay in the arrest of the accused in the case. PM Modi announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 Lakhs each from Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of the deceased. Rs 50,000 to be given to those injured due to the fire. As per Gujarat Chief Minister's Office, CM Vijay Rupani has ordered a probe in the incident of fire at Shrey Hospital in Ahmedabad. Sangeeta Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (Home Department) will be leading the probe. The CM has ordered for a report within 3 days. While speaking to media, the JCP at Sector 1 in Ahmedabad, Rajendra Asari said, "8 people have died in the fire incident. Other patients have been shifted to a safer place." "A thorough investigation will be conducted," he added.

45-day Navarathri Kolu exhibition began in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore but sales of Kolu dolls have gone down due to COVID-19 pandemic. This year due to COVID, Poompuhar does not have good customer footfall. Compared to last year, artisans' stalls are very less. Last year, 20 artisans participated while this year only 15 are here. A massive fire broke out at the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation's (ONGC) Hazira gas processing plant in Gujarat's Surat district in the wee hours of thursday. The fire has now been brought under control according to ONGC. The blaze, which was visible from a fair distance, was preceded by three consecutive blasts. Fire vehicles of the ONGC, Surat Municipal Corporation and local industrial units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. The inlet gas terminal where the fire broke out was cordoned off and the plant was secured immediately after the fire broke out. The Collector of Surat said that the cause of the fire will be ascertained after cooling operations are completed. โ€˜A fire was observed in the Hazira Gas processing plant in the morning today. Fire has been brought under control. There is no casualty or injury to any person. โ€˜Fire has been completely extinguished.
