While president trump is saying mail-in voting..will create a number of problems..

Several states inclduing kentucky-- are pushing for that.

The president claiming if states use mail-in voting..it could be months before the november election is determined.

He's promoting florida's mail in system..

While blasting nevadas.

The trump campaign has actually sued over nevada's plan to expand mail-in voting this november.

President trump: "absentee voting great.

But this mail in voting where they mail indiscriminately mail millions and millions of ballots to people?"

You can't have that."

In an interview with cnn governor andy beshear was asked his thoughts on the presidents take on mail-in voting..

His response was he couldnt comment on the intentions of the president..

But that he believed plans should be made to make voting easier..

Not harder.

He says mail-in voting is still up for debate.

"we have gotten our first set of recommendations that includes a significant piece of absentee ballots, and it actually includes a longer period of time for early voting.

So now i'm going to get a formal recommendation from the secretary of state and we're going to sit down and work it out and i'm confident we can come to the agreement that will expand the availability of voting while making sure it's safe in the middle of covid."

The governor is pushing for more early voting..

More polling sites in major metropolition areas... and significant absentee voting.

### as we mentioned--the state did see record voter turnout in june..

Even with limited in-person polling sites..and a focus on absentee voting.

Statewide --more than 848 thousand absentee ballotts were returned..

And more than 274 thousand voted in person.

Thats 29 percent of registered voters..up from 20 percent four years
