We're hearing from the big ten commissioner for the first time since the conference announced it's postponing its football season.

The big 10presidents met this morning at 9:30 and came to the decision to cancel the fall football season just after 2 this afternoon.

Big 10 conference commission kevin warren.... who's son plays at mississippi state by the way, said in a statement vo: it became abundantly clear there was too much uncertainty regarding potential medical risks to allow our student athletes to compete this fall.

The big 10 is the first power 5 conference to pull the plug on the 2020 season.

Scott frost, the nebraska football coach has been outspoken the past two days about finding a way to play in the fall no matter what he released a statement along with other university officials saying we are very disappointed in the decision by the big 10 conference.

As we have been and continue to be ready to play.

Ohio state released a similar statement.

Meanwhile... the sec's schedule is still set to start september 26.

Greg sankey was on the dan patrick show this morning, and said the decision to delay the season till the end of september has given the sec some flexiility.
