Our top story tonight at 5:30: bibb county students will start school september 8th.

Even though classes are virtual ... doctors say parents don't need to forget about getting their child vaccinated.

According to the director of safety and security for bibb schools, the coronavirus has not been deadly for middle georgia kids.

But other viruses can be.

He says vaccines---are required by law to attend a public schools.

He says vaccinations strengthen the immune system and prevent the spread of illnessses like the measles or mumps... and even the flu.

We normally offer those when we are in person so this year will be a little different.

Right now we are going to be all virtual learning and when school opens on september the 8 until october 30th and then there will be a reevaluation at that point by the superintendent to see how we go
