Lincoln County Students Have Option to Return to Class on Monday

Parents Have Until Friday, August 28th to Decide

New information -- parents who are having second thoughts about the virutal option at lincoln county schools now have a chance for a do-over.

In a video statement -- schools director doctor bill heath said starting monday -- parents have the option to move their children back to learning in the classroom.

We had a lot of discussion about these plans knowing that there would be times when the plan would be fluid and would have to be adjusted.

This is one of those adjustments that we feel is best for everyone involved.

The window for making this change only lasts until the end of the day on friday, august 28.

The next chance for parents and students to make a change will be during fall break.

Right now -- lincoln county has a total of 379 coronavirus cases and one death.

There are 150 active cases in the county.

Dr. heath previously told us if the county exceeds 174 active cases or 0.5 percent of the population -- then the distict would transition to its hybrid plan of in-person and remote
