Hurricanes or tropical storms here in the wabash valley.

But we do occasionally have tropical depressions which can still be very dangerous..

Heavy rainfall and damaging winds are usually the main areas of concern.

However tornadoes can be a possibility since we usually see a lot of spin still active in the atmosphere.

Tropical depressions are nothing strange for us in illinois and indiana.

Back in september of 2008, the remnants of hurricane ike brought 50 mph winds and roughly 2 inches of rainfall here in terre haute.

Nothing like what we will see here in the next few days.

So what will laura bring us?

Well to be able to track exactly where it will go, we have to look at our weather here in the wabash valley.

There are currently two high pressures on our surface map.

One in eastern tennessee, and the other over missouri.

These highs will help guide the tropical low northward into our region.

Now as we get close to friday evening and into saturday, a cold front will begin to push southward through the wabash valley.

This cold front will force the tropical depression to the east which will force the storm away from us.

Rainfall is likely here in the valley over the next few days because of laura.

However it appears as if the strongest portions of the tropical depression will be farther south around portions of tennessee and kentucky.

Still always be weather aware and stay up to date with forecasts from storm team 10.
