Business are adapting the governors new guidance.

Tonight we start with that new california color coded system.

Action news now reporter esteban reynoso spoke with local shop owners and asked them if it could save their business.

Butte county is labeled purple on the new state color coded system, which is the highest risk level.

But with the new system, some businesses like these behind me, may be able to open back up.

Per the new order, purple means barbershops, hair salons, and shopping centers can re- open indoor operations with restrictions.

"it's been very helpful for us to reopen."

Retail store owner trent walsh says the ability to have people in the store is the reason they're still in business.

"95% of our revenue comes from product here.

Online doesn't do very well.

A lot of it is impulse buy."

But businesses that were effected directly like barbershops say these new relaxed restrictions -- is too little too late.

"i had to close my barber shop in oroville.

It's not going to do much for me."

Other barbershops i spoke with here in downtown chico say they're just waiting for all of this to blow over, and they'll research what they can to keep their doors open.

Only 10 of the 58 counties in the state are labeled moderate to minimal spread.

The other 48 are substanial to widespread.
