Imprisoned man says he was hired to murder Lauderdale County woman in 2015

We have a breaking news update.... within the last 2 hours waay 31 learned - a man already serving time in prison - confessed to an unsolved murder in lauderdale county.

But questions still remain.

Today, the d-a charged - casey white - with capital murder for killing - connie ridgeway - in 2015.

Waay31's breken terry was at that scene five years ago - and is live after speaking with one of ridgeway's sons, breken?

One of connie's son's, austin williams, told me he and his brother waitied for this day.

He knows this won't bring his mother back but it does give his family some relief knowing her killer is behind bars.

In a twist, lauderdale county district attorney chris connolley said white reached out to the lead detective on this case in june.

The da said white admitted to killing rigdeway in her rogersville apartment in october 2015 and said he was hired to do so.

Connolley said they're still investigating whites claim on who hired him and why.

The da also didn't say what prompted white to confess.

Connolly said white knew details about the crime scene that were never released.

Over the years the ridgeway's family, the lauderdale county sheriff's office, and the district attorney's office have pleaded with people to come forward on the case.

We've tried to make sure as best we could to keep the investigation alive and were certainly thankful to get a break in june.

White is being held without bond in the laudferdale county detention center.

He will go before a judge this week.

White was already serving a lengthy sentece in prsion for a crime spree in limestone county.
