16 WAPT Meteorologist Adam McWilliams has the forecast for Jackson and Central Mississippi.

All right around the area this morning.Pretty dry, but just off to the west,we have heavy rainfall across NorthTexas, Oklahoma into Arkansas.

In fact, this area from Little Rock down to theDallas area has seen anywhere from 4 to7 plus inches of rainfall in just thepast 24 hours.

In fact, this areaacross Arkansas has highlighted for ahigh threat of flash flooding for todayand high pressure in the Gulf of Mexico, keeping that rain train to our northand also going to keep us on the hotside of things today.

Temperaturestarting the day in the middle to Upper70 77 here in the metro, 79 forVicksburg and Fayette.

And these dopoint numbers again.

When you're up inthe middle to upper seventies, it feelsawful outside with all of this tropicalhumidity highs for today will be intothe lower nineties.

But again, throughthe day, the real phone numbers, they're not going to be as bad as we do.Have some slightly drier air that isgoing to be over the area, so it'sgonna feel hot, but not as hot as itdid during the day on yesterday.

Sohere's a look at that high pressurearea, and it's also kicking up someSaharan dust across the region.

That iswhy the that slightly drier air isgoing to be moving in today.Thunderstorms don't like that, so thatpumps in that dry air puts a cap on thethunderstorms for the day, and that'sgoing to continue into the day onThursday.

But the big story is nextweek.

We're waiting for some cooler anddrier air to move in, and that's goingto be a surge off fall like air movingin late next week.

And we're talkinghighs maybe in the eighties, lows atnight, down in the sixties off to finetune that forecast.

But look for thatprobably about Wednesday or Thursdayoff next week, and temperatures goingto be about 5 to 10 degrees belowaverage 15 to 20 back up to the north, across the central part of the country. The tropics are active, but nowherenear the United States, which is goodnews.

Omar's out here moving out to seaand dissipating, and then we havetropical storm manana, which willbecome a hurricane as It makes landfallon the coast of Belize by Thursday, quickly weakening as it moves intoCentral America.

Now we're runningthrough.

The names were already on theP name Storm Paulette, and if we runout of names for the for the regularlist, we're gonna go into the Greekalphabet.

Alfa Beta Gamma.

So Ah, we'renot even in the peak of hurricaneseason.

That does start.

That's aroundSeptember 10th, and then it lasts untilabout November 30th.

All right fortoday.

Temperatures will be in thelower 90.

Israel phone numbers in your100.

There's your seven day forecast.Rain chance has come back to theforecast Friday into the weekend intothe Labor Day holiday.
