Prayer Vigil held in Rome to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11

The vigil was held at the Memorial Park across the street from the Rome Fire Department on Black River Boulevard.

With covid reducing the number of ceremonies and attendance in the area.... the organizer of tonight's event says with rome , he wanted to do something to honor those lives lost on september 11th, 2001.

I didn't see anything going on for 9/11, and every year we always do something.

We put up flags, or whatever and i just wanted to do something a little bit more this year.

I talked to my pastor and said i want to do a prayer vigil, and he thought it was a good idea so i said i'm going to do this."

Over a dozen people attended the prayer vigil tonight.
