Again!

In the last 30 minutes we heard from arab city schools superintendent doctor johnny berry in a live zoom interview.

This comes as students are packing their bags for their first full week of in-person classes!

Waay 31's sierra phillips joins us now with what what led up to the district's decision.

Dr. johnny berry just explained-- they decided to make this switch because their numbers have stayed consistently low.

They brought back pre-k through 5th grade first and now all grades through 12th are coming back.

There have been some some coronavirus cases.

They've contact traced and notified families.

He said their biggest challenge will be making sure they keep everyone socially distanced.

At last check, the district had 7 active cases with 31 in self isolation on friday.

Before the year started - they hired an extra nurse mostly dedicated to coronavirus and contact tracing.
