Furloughed workers may soon learn their fate.

Over remington arms' ilion plant, as the majorof wor, might soon be lifting.

A company official spoke exclusively with newschannel 2's joleen ferris, today, about the future of the ilion plant.

We spoke with the head of human resources for remington outdoor company.

He says, after speaking with incoming owners, he's very encouraged" 3:51 "what the new group has told me is that they are looking to rebuild in new york, specifically in the area.

They are already in conversations with the union at the international and local level and they're gonna be reaching out to the state and they are cautiously optimistic we're gonna get there" when he says rebuild in new york, he means, right here, in ilion 2:53 "the legacy remington products will remain here and be in production here" 750-800 people work at the ilion plant.

Ruger bought that line, and plans to move all marlin assets to their existing plants.

Remington outdoor has told employees that this coming monday, they'd offer them one of three outcomes: continue furlough, termination, or job offer with the new company.

Tolmei isn't yet sure if retention of current, non-marlin employees would be seamless, or, if they'd have to reapply for their jobs.

But after talking with the incoming owners over the past few days, he's encouraged.
