As news 18 previously reported, the university combined thanksgiving and christmas break due to the covid-19 pandemic.

This means when students leave for thanksgiving break, they will not return to campus until january.

Purdue president, mitch daniels, said each student will be required to have a negative covid-19 test before coming back to campus.

Daniels said the university's testing will be similar to what the students experienced in the fall.

At this time, daniels said they'll most likely be sending the testing kits home with the students.

"our current plan is to use the same, or very similar testing mechanism.

A student would take the kit home and be asked to take the test within a short time of coming back to campus."
