Today is the last day of in-person learning at harvest elementary for at least a week.

Waay 31's ashley carter us live with how the district made the decision.

Ashley?

The district announced the change to remote learning for a week after more than 20 students and four employees had to quarantine because of possible coronavirus exposure.

Now - more than seven hundred harvest elementary school students will transition to remote learning.

As of right now - 26 students and four teachers in quarantine - there's only one positive case but...school officials still made the call to move to remote learning for a week as an added safety precaution.

The district started the year online-only - but this is the first time since returning to class in-person that this school has had to move students to virtual learning.

Parents told us they understand the school is acting in the best interest of the students - but they know remote learning has its challenges.

Katie morgan, parent i was expecting it, but at the same time, it was like 'holy hell!'

Like many other parents, what are we going to do?

Students will still attend school as regularly scheduled today.

But after today - they will not return back to the classroom until november 30th which is after thanskgiving break.
