Frontline health care workers right here in the wabash valley say they are eager to get their covid-19 vaccinations.

New for you at 10... i spoke with nurses in greene county, indiana about the battle they're facing right now.

On cam: "...and you want to do more and you just don't know what else to do."

Show pics of health care worker} (track) smiles behind personal protective equipment... these are the health care workers on the frontline -- fighting covid-19 -- in greene county.

Nat pop/ video from a downtown type are} (track) there have been more than 15-hundred covid-19 cases in greene county since reporting started earlier this year.

Pull out so} (track) linda cullison has worked as a nurse for more than 13-years... (sot/can cover with people in community video) 13:13:41 - 13:13:57 "most of our patients are from the community now, getting covid out and about in the community.

We're seeing younger, not necessarily old and nursing home patients, but we're also seeing young members of the community, people who are still working and still getting out and families."

Video of hospita} (track) health care workers here say they cling to small victories and hope their patients get to go home.

But... for the patients who won't... they offer them company in the absense of loved ones.

(sot) 13:25:35 - 13:25:53 "first couple patients that i had were older individuals who had multiple co-morbidities or multiple diseases that they were fighting with covid and it was a really hard passing, hard death for them.

It was difficult for them."

(track) after months battling this virus at home... these health care workers say they're hopeful a new weapon will help them beat back the virus.

I think that's a main way for us to stop this."

(track) pledging to keep up the good fight for their community.
