It's far from a normal school year for Kennedy Elementary School teacher Kristen Robinson, but her students have helped to make limited in-person learning worth the many changes.

Kindergarteners at kennedy elementary are apart of l-i-p-i or limited in person instruction.

Adam you spoke with one teacher about kennedy elementary school about how this process is going and what to expect moving forward-- what can you tell us?

Kristen robinson has been a teacher at kennedy elementary school for the last 3 years.

Now if you ask her this past year may have been the most challenging but she will also say it has been the most rewarding at kennedy elementary school "its amazing --- the most magical thing in the world all year" the many faces of kindergarten on display --- "to see their minds light up constantly when they learn something new but when they are just connecting with one another is beyond amazing" you can say for kristen robinson "its a lot different but i think that we are doing a really good job of being a class family" these are the faces that she's excited to see each and everyday "i focus on what do the kids need the most social connection, its hard because we are so socially distanced however the class knows that we are a family so the class knows that there is always an introduction time when we talk about the day before and we share something" because since the start of the pandemic in person has been a bit of an unknown --- just like what we are dealing with now --- "it was heartbreaking, there were definetly tears when the thought of not having my children in my classroom was a reality however i went into immediate survival mode and i just started planning and creating the best eexperience that i could and if ask --- her students are handling it pretty well "my goal is to make sure that they get the essentials that they when they are with me in the classroom and we supplement with learning online i'm there to support them if they need it however i think the biggest part of it that we focus on as a team is making sure we are connecting with them as people.
