Dan shaffer.

And i'm najahe sherman.

For now - we're learning how some teachers and other school staff in north alabama could get a bonus.

In just a few minutes - huntsville city school board of education will vote on a supplemental pay plan for staff.

Waay-31's bridget divers joins us live from huntsville city schools... she has more on how this will help teachers and staff.

The supplemental pay plan -- if approved tonight -- would give all staff in huntsville city schools five hundred dollars.

Teachers could use that money to cover the costs of items they have personally bought for their students.

If approved the payment plan would cost the district one point four to one point five million dollars.

Top administrators would be exempt from receiving the supplmental pay.

That includes superintendent christie finley.

"it will help people with their christmas.

And if nothing else it will help with some reimbursement of expenses they have incurred out of their own pockets to make this school year functional so we're thankful the board's doing this."

Now if approved there is not an exact date for when huntsville city school staff would receive that five hudred dollars.
