City of charleston not home to 5g.

Although the technology supporting it is growing.

We spoke with leaders at crown castle which installs small cell needs, which is the backbone of 5g technology.

They tell us so far 19 have been installed throughout the peninsula.

In order for communities to serve not only residents but also the economic development that's necessary for businesses to want to locate in an area, it is important that they concentrate on developing these types of critical technological utilities.

28 have been issued so far.

Both the city and the company stress they are focused on maintaining the historic landscape of the city while installing the new technology.

Jon: starting in the new year more farmers in the state can apply to grow hemp.

Applications through the department of agriculture through february 28th.

Those requirements to get permit include proof of south carolina residency passing a criminal background check.

Farm service agency number and paying application permit fees and farmers also need to provide gps coordinates where all hemp will be grown.
