Wildlife officials in Indonesia's West Sumatra made the grim discovery of a dead buffalo and two injured calves on March 9.

Footage shows the calves and the dead buffalo with the claw marks of a Sumatran tiger upon them being examined by the officials, as well as the tiger's pawprints in the mud.

The head of the Agam Resort Natural Resources Conservation Center, Ade Putra, said that the traces found were suspected of being the footprints of a Sumatran tiger attacking the buffalo.

"The tiger is thought moved into the forest," Ade added.

Additional footage shows officers making noise using carbide cannons and firearms to drive the tigers back into their forest habitat in the Maninjau Nature Reserve area, about 2.5 kilometres from the location.
