A LARGE FIRE AT AN APARTMENT BUILDING IN JOHNSON COUNTY HAS LEFT SEVERAL PEOPLE WITHOUT A HOME AND TOOK FIRE CREWS HALF A DAY TO CONTAIN.

A home and took fire crews half a day to contain.

Abc 36's danielle saitta was at that fire and spoke with some of those now displaced.

Some tenants i spoke to tell me they're devastated and they're not sure where to turn now that they've lost everything for about half a daya large structure fire broke out at brookside apartments multiple crews had to assist..including crews from neighboring cities.

Firefighters say flames came out of the front and back of building.

Tenants from 40 apartments were removed from their homes...a handful of the homes are unsalvagable with fire and water damage.

While some residents say they're able to stay with friends and family others like justine templeton and her family weren't as lucky she says she's lost everything..and almost lost her son.

When the fire broke out her 17 year old was in their apartment sleeping..she says emotions were high after getting that phone call that their apartment was on fire.

Justine templeton, tenant sot: "i was terrified i was terrified because if i lost him i don't know what i would've done" "danielle: but he's ok what was your feeling when you saw him.."

"i got excited...he's my baby" looklive fire crews say they're investigating how this fire broke out.
