Many speculate he will announce a run for the u-s senate.

Alex, how could a senate run by mo brooks impact the midterm election?

It's highly anticipated that congressman mo brooks will announce that he is running for the u-s senate seat tonight.

That's after senator richard shelby announced he would not seek re-election in 2022.

I spoke to a political science professor at calhoun community college about how brooks'senate run could impact the midterm election.

Dr. waymon burke says it's unusual for the 5th congressional district seat to be open which is the seat brooks currently holds.

It's only happened a few times before -- but it could be possible that there won't be a seat to fill depending on the 2020 census data.

When the census data comes out, we will find out if alabama retains its 7 seats or if we perhaps lose a congressional seat.

Although alabama has grown, other parts of the country have grown at a faster rate.

The state legislature will have to redraw the district maps after the census data is released.

The rally is set to begin at 6 tonight -- here at bullet and barrel.

A silent protest is also scheduled to take place across the street as brooks also faces calls to resign for what he said at a pro- trump rally ahead of the riot at the u-s capitol.
