Fatal accident in Madison County

One person died following a head-on crash in the town of Lenox Thursday afternoon.

First brought to you last night at six... the madison county sheriff's office tells us one person has died following a head on crash in the town of lenox.

It happened just before 2:30 thursday afternoon on route 5.

A pick up truck driven by john montagne of canastota was headed east and crossed over into the westbound lane into the path of a dump truck.

The driver, terry stauffer was uninjured.

Montagne died at the scene.

Route 5 was closed for several hours, but is back open to traffic.
