A big win and a close loss highlighted a unique day of baseball for the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons against the Northern Kentucky Norse.

The 'Dons won game won 14-0 and fell in the second game 5-4.

Switching gears from hoops to baseball now...hard to believe pete... but it's been 578 days since the last time we had baseball at parkview field... yeah... september second, 20-19... exactly 19 months to the day....granted... we still have just over a month until the tincaps take the field... but earlier today..

We saw real, live baseball back in downtown fort wayne... yeah..

Beginning today, over the next month, high school and college teams will get their turn to take over the tincaps home field...and it began with purdue fort wayne... let's get you out to beautiful parkview field... the dons hosting northern kentucky for a horizon league match up this afternoon...and things looking good for doug schreiber's squad early... first inning... jack lang stings a shot to the left center gap... he rolls in to second with the leadoff double...later in the frame... runners at the corners... n-k- u's noah richardson tries the pickoff to first... throws the ball away... lang walks home from third... and p-f-w takes the one run lead...same score in the third... one on for trenton stoner... he sends the lazy fly ball in to right center... it falls in for a hit... aaron chapman scores from second without a throw.... dons take a two run lead.... but n-k-u would storm back with five in the sixth and seventh...norse take this one 5-4 the final..

These two back at it
