The blaze started last Friday (June 23), and more than 900 personnel have been involved in battling the fire.

Wyatt told Newsflare: "Firestorm crew 3 were the first crew out fighting fires, this fire season in the company of Firestorm, they kept Plumas National Forest safe, and now they are taking on the Lava Fire, each and every single one of them are hard-working and extremely dedicated firefighters, they live to be on the hotline, surrounded by fire, smoke, dust and fire beetles biting at their necks.

They deserve every ounce of respect."
