2009 - 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5L CVT Transmission Fluid Change! (with NO Drain Plug)

Welcome to the Trick Shift Garage!

In this video, we will show you the steps needed to change your transmission fluid for your 2009-2012 Nissan Altima with a 2.5L engine.

Please double check your transmission pan bolt pattern because there are two different pans that are out there between these model years.

The 2009 - 2010 Altimas have an 18-bolt pattern while the 2010 - 2012 Altimas have a 19-bolt pattern.

So make sure you order the right gasket before you drop your transmission pan and find out you have the wrong one.

Other than that, the process and torque specs are the same with my transmission pan (that has a drain plug).

Loosen all of the transmission pan bolts first, then slowly remove the back bolts to allow the pan to naturally tilt back.

Make sure you have a drain pan under and extra rags and towels to catch any runoff!

Once the pan is down in the pan, clean it up and apply the new gasket.

Put the pan back up taking careful consideration to make sure the gasket is seated properly, go slow and take your time here.

Next, we bolt the pan back up and torque them down to spec.

Then we refill the transmission with fresh NS-2 grade CVT transmission fluid.

We finish it up by checking the fluid level, making sure it's filled up.
