It was one of the first songs to use the Moog instrument.

Mike Nesmith was the second person to purchase a Moog after the Beetles.

The chords are Amajor, Cmajor, Dmajor, Emajor, which is a popular progression.

It appeared on their fourth album, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd.

Nesmith wrote the lyrics as a commentary on the Sunset Strip curfew riots that occurred in 1966.
