History is such a b*tch sometimes. May 1 became International Workers' Day because of a brutal Chicago event in the late 1800s. But today, the US celebrates Labor Day on the first Monday of September, while "May Day" has become one of the most important days for workers in almost any other country, especially in totalitarian and communist regimes like Russia, China, or North Korea.
