Michael McCaskey, the former president and chairman of the Chicago Bears, has died after a long battle with cancer, the NFL team announced Saturday night. McCaskey, the oldest grandchild of Bears founder George Halas and the son of current Bears principal owner Virginia Halas McCaskey, was 76. McCaskey became president and CEO of the Bears after Halas died in 1983, holding the post until 1999. He then served as chairman of the board until 2011.
