Carnival to sell more ships as world's largest cruise company downsizes

Carnival Corp. will sell 18 ships in the third quarter instead of the original 13 planned. The Doral-based cruise company stated in a recent Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing that it now plans to cut 12% of the company's overall capacity. Carnival Corp. (NYSE: CCL) has already sold eight vessels, according to the filing. The company entered the year with a 102-ship fleet.
