Alaska Airlines cuts 532 workers — not 4,200 — after landing federal loan

A federal government loan worth up to $600 million and staffing measures adopted this summer have helped Alaska Airlines lower its layoffs to just 532 workers, not the thousands of employees it had forecast earlier.
