Operating in mining friendly Nevada Led by resource sector professionals Global copper demand continues to rise What Bam Bam Resources Corp does:  Bam Bam Resources Corp (CSE:BBR) (OTCPINK:NPEZD) (FRA:4NPB) is focused on advancing its flagship Majuba Hill project in Nevada, USA, on which it has a lease deal, towards becoming a world-class copper deposit. The exploration focus on copper is as a direct result of the growing electric vehicle (EV) industry, the group has said, which uses the red metal throughout the motor and electrical system in every vehicle. Notably, Majuba Hill sits 120 miles northeast of the Tesla (NADSAQ:TSLA) Gigafactory. The project spans around 34 square kilometres (sq km) after the company increased its ground by 75% earlier this year. It is accessed via 23 miles of well-maintained dirt roads leading from US Interstate 80. Historic data from the project suggests an economically feasible oxide deposit near-surface with the potential for a larger sulphide formation below. The asset's previous production credentials are in no doubt. Between 1907 and 1960, Majuba Hill produced 2.8 million pounds of copper, 184,000 ounces of silver, over 885,000 pounds of lead and 5,800 ounces of lode gold. Bam Bam says the total potential for the project is between 350 and 500 million tons of sulfide/oxide mineralization at grades of 0.4% copper, 12 parts per million (ppm) silver and 0.175 parts per million (ppm) gold. How is it doing: In February this year, the company revealed that highly experienced mining professional Larry Segerstrom had joined the advisory board as it updated on last year's exploration highlights. Segerstrom, who led teams that discovered new resources of more than 750,000 ounces of gold and 60 million ounces of silver with Paramount Gold and Silver and new ore reserves totaling 3.4 billion pounds of copper and 3.6 million ounces of gold with Freeport- McMoRan, was said to be very encouraged by the 'strong porphyry signature' shown at Majuba Hill. In 2020, Bam Bam drilled 8,706 feet (2,654 metres) in five core and four reverse circulation (RC) holes. Highlight results included 146 feet (ft) of 2.5% copper-equivalent. Last year's exploration was a staged program applying all available drilling, geochemistry, and geophysical data to the copper porphyry mineralization.. It meant the company was able to expand and enlarge the known copper oxide zone and expand and extend the hypogene sulfide copper mineralization. Meanwhile, an 43-101 technical report was initiated in 2020 to provide an initial resource for Majuba and this is earmarked for completion early in Q2 pending receipt of all 2020 assay results. On March 8, 2021 Bam Bam said recent and historic drill findings had shown the potential to "significantly" expand the known mineralization at the property as it pointed to holes which had "bottomed in significant copper grades below the copper oxide zones". That came just weeks after assay results for 399 soil samples collected from the eastern side of the intrusive complex at the asset, which showed anomalous copper, silver, molybdenum, zinc, and gold correlated with intrusive centers identified from exploration in 2020. "The discovery of the newly recognized intrusive centers highlights the potential for high grade enrichment and a large copper mineralization system," the company said. There are significant enrichment zones in many porphyry copper deposits in the southwest U.S., like those in the large Pima mining district in Arizona, and the giant mines in Chile, Escondida and Chuquicamata. "The enrichment zones in these mines are of high economic importance and one of the reasons that they are so rich and economically viable. I look forward to further drilling the copper enriched zones at Majuba Hill and deeper into the primary copper mineralization below. I think that we will significantly expand the known Majuba mineralization." Contact the author at giles@proactiveinvestors.com
