A Portland-area studio known for its stop-motion animation is making its first move into live action film. Multiple movie industry publications reported Wednesday that Hillsboro-based Laika has secured rights to make an adaptation of the yet-to-be-released novel "Seventeen," by John Brownlow. The studio also confirmed the news on social media. The studio so far has made movies with stop-motion technology, including "Coraline," "ParaNorman" and "Missing Link," for which it won a Golden Globe award.…
