Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has pledged to donate his kidney, liver, and cornea during an organ donation programme organized by the BJP's medical cell. Sawant emphasized the need for organ donations to save lives, particularly for kidney transplants. He also announced that liver and heart transplants will soon be available in the state. The government plans to establish an eye donation bank at the Goa Medical College and has successfully completed organ harvesting procedures at the facility. If there are no matching recipients in Goa, donated kidneys are offered to other hospitals regionally or nationally.
