Government: Pneumonia cases detected in Delhi not tied to China infections

The health ministry denies that the seven cases of Mycoplasma pneumoniae detected at AIIMS Delhi are linked to the recent surge in respiratory infections among children. The ministry states that the cases were part of an ongoing study at AIIMS and are not a cause for concern. Additionally, the ministry reports that no Mycoplasma pneumoniae has been detected in samples tested at the department of microbiology, AIIMS Delhi since January 2023. The government emphasizes that there has been no surge of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infections reported in India.
