Organ donations rise in Hyderabad amid spike in sudden cardiac deaths

The increase in sudden collapse cases due to cardiac arrest has now started showing up in official data, after people have taken note of their heart health following a spate of such cases caught on camera. Elderly patients have been among organ donors in the Jeevandan Organ Donation Programme, but recently more younger patients have been recorded. Jeevandan records might be the only record hinting at sudden collapse cases. Among the recent cases is a 38-year-old who suddenly collapsed at his house and a 40-year-old daily labourer who 'suddenly fell down at his residence'.
